Nurge Bead Stringing Tool
A time saving, fun way to load the small seed beads on thread for jewellery making, fringing and applique etc. The bowl is made from hard beechwood, finely sanded and hand polished for a super smooth natural wood finish. The bowl is 110mm (4 1/4″) diameter and 32mm (1 1/4″) deep that sits on a wooden weighted base fixed to a free-running bearing with zero friction, therefore spins freely with ease. Included in the pack are two needles with a thread eye on one end and a unique pointed curve on the other end for ‘catching’ the beads.
How to use the Stringing Tool: Thread your needle with cotton or similar lace. load your bowl with the seed beads so that it is no more than half full. Using your thumb and forefinger of your left hand gently rotate the bowl anti-clockwise using the centre spindle ~ The beads will naturally gravitate towards the outside of the bowl. Place the curved end of the needle in the bowl and to the right-hand side of the centre spindle with the point of the needle facing the direction of the oncoming travelling beads. The beads now find their way onto the needle and once you have collected a fair number of beads, take out the needle and place the captured beads down your thread. It’s amazing ~ but you will need to experiment where best to place the needle for the best effort to suit you and your beads ~ a couple of minutes of practice and you’ll be hooked! This tool is designed for loading standard seed beads which are typically 2.5mm to 3.5mm in diameter.
Please note: The beads featured in the pictures are not included with the spinning tool but they are available to buy separately.
